He inherited his passion for photography from his mother, María Tany Flores, and his grandfather, Lucio Flores, both photojournalists for the press who captured moments in the history of Bolivia with their lenses. Rolls, negatives and dark rooms were elements that marked his childhood and the migration from analog to digital is the gear that led him to train in photography.
He worked on journalistic coverage of cultural events for Cosas y Data Magazine, in La Paz, for a period of three years, an experience that allowed him to understand and delve even deeper into the narrative sense of photography.
His first formal studies were with Grover Hinojosa and workshops on Digital Photography endorsed by Nikon and the APLP, among others, which consolidated training both technically and in the way of reflecting what is observed through a lens.
In 2005, he decided to participate in the National Photography Contest “Fotopasión” organized by La Alianza Francesa, the newspaper El Deber and Acción Cultural de La Paz, winning 2nd prize in the Youth Category.
From then until 2018 he has collaborated in publications in La Razón with cultural and tourism themes.
Cultural management is a passion that beats in his heart and gave him the opportunity to show his work at the Miko Art Gallery in La Paz with Collective exhibitions and at the same time propose international collective exhibitions: Creer es Crear (Collective Exhibition) by Miko Art Gallery.
Additionally, he was an assistant to the renowned artist Mamani Mamani and worked in independent cultural management with artists such as Wamani Wanka, Gilka Wara, Rosmery Mamani, Gebracia Aruquipa, Leo Calisaya, Mamani Mamani, Camus Jazz Band and Jallalla Chuquiago Project.
He is currently Agent and Cultural Manager of the Uara Uara Art Collective, who also is precursor of this initiative.
Su pasión por la fotografía la hereda de su madre, María Tany Flores, y de su abuelo, Lucio Flores, ambos reporteros gráficos de medios de prensa que con sus lentes capturaron momentos de la historia de Bolivia. Los rollos, negativos y cuartos oscuros eran elementos que marcan su infancia y la migración de de lo análogo a lo digital es el engranaje que lo lleva a capacitarse en la fotografía.
Trabajó en la cobertura periodística de eventos culturales para la Revista Cosas y Datos, en La Paz, por un período de tres años, experiencia que le permitió entender y ahondar aun más en el sentido narrativo de la fotografía.
Sus primeros estudios formales fueron con Grover Hinojosa y talleres sobre Fotografía Digital avalado por Nikon y la APLP, además de otros, que consolidaron una capacitación tanto en lo técnico como en la forma de reflejar aquello que se observa a través de un lente.
En 2005, decide participar en el Concurso Nacional de Fotografía “Fotopasión” organizado por La Alianza Francesa, el periódico El Deber y Acción Cultural de La Paz consiguiendo el 2do premio en la Categoría Juvenil.
Desde ese entonces hasta el 2018 ha colaborado en publicaciones en La Razón con temática cultural y de turismo.
La gestión cultural es un pasión que late en su corazón y le dio la oportunidad de mostrar su trabajo en la galería Miko Art Gallery en La Paz con exposiciones Colectivas y a su vez proponer exhibiciones colectivas internacionales: Creer es Crear (Muestra Colectiva) de Miko Art Gallery.
Además, fue asistente del reconocido artista Mamani Mamani y trabajó en la gestión cultural independiente con artistas como Wamani Wanka, Gilka Wara, Rosmery Mamani, Gebracia Aruquipa, Leo Calisaya, Mamani Mamani, Camus Jazz Band y Jallalla Chuquiago Project.
Actualmente es Representante y Gestor Cultural del Colectivo de Arte Uara Uara quién también es precursor de esta iniciativa.
